The Balur Refuge is located near Colle Balur, which is located in Valle Gesso, more precisely in the side valley of Roaschia, a few km south of the town. It divides Monte Balur (1827 m) from Monte Testas (1830 m) and offers a remarkable panorama of nearby Bisalta and, on the opposite side, of Monte Bussaia and Punta del Van.
