Rifugio Bianco Dante Livio

A few meters from Lake Sottano della Sella which, with its brother Soprano, is the largest natural basin in the Maritime Alps stands the refuge.
The mountains around it are able to satisfy the expert mountaineer, the hiker and the day tripper who will be enraptured by the splendid panorama.

The refuge is located at an altitude of 1910 m. in the upper Vallone della Meris, on the eastern shore of Lake Sottano della Sella, at the foot of the northern slope of Monte Matto.

Owned by the C.A.I. of Cuneo, the refuge is a solid construction in exposed stone with a sheet metal roof. It has about fifty beds in rooms and dormitories. It has indoor and outdoor toilets, hot water showers, heating and telephone service.

During the closing periods, a winter room is available with a capacity of fourteen beds with blankets and mattresses. The winter bivouac for current regulations is not equipped with heating and gas, running water a few meters from the refuge.
